Thomas Cramp on the move

Thomas Cramp from the Marist Judo Club has caught the attention of Judo Australia (JA) National Cadet Coaches, Performance Hub Coaches and the JA Technical Director with him being selected in the 2022 JA Cadet Development Squad. This is part of JA’s pathway for young athletes who are working towards international representation.

Thomas mentioned that he was ‘stoked’ when he received the news and is honoured to have been selected on the JA squad. He is looking forward to maximising this opportunity and will fully commit to the heavy program of training and participating in competitions to further his development. For someone who is young, Thomas realises the hard work ahead, as he looks forward to the future to meet new friends but with the end goal firmly set on representing Australia on home soil at the Brisbane Olympics. Thomas went on to say that his Dad and mentor Ben, a former National Champion, will be there every step of the way to fulfill his dreams.

We look forward to Thomas getting back on the mat at next year’s February Canberra International to consolidate his national ranking and hopes of another gold medal.
