MEMBERSHIP
Membership with Judo ACT connects you to the officially recognised judo network in the ACT and across Australia, providing the protection, recognition and opportunities that come with being part of the sport’s governing system. It underpins your ability to train and compete at sanctioned clubs and events, supports your grading and development pathway, and helps fund the programs that keep judo in our region safe, well‑run and growing.
WHY REGISTER WITH JUDO ACT?

Recognised grading and pathways
Only registered members can grade through the official Judo Australia system and have their rank recognised nationally. Membership keeps your grades, contest record and eligibility for selection pathways (state squad, national events and higher‑level opportunities) formally recorded and up to date.
Access to competitions and events
Membership is required to enter Judo ACT and Judo Australia–sanctioned competitions, including local shiais, gradings and the Canberra International Open. It also gives you access to coaching courses, referee education, state squad training and other development activities run under the Judo ACT banner.

Insurance and safety
As a registered member, you are covered by Judo Australia’s national insurance program when you train and compete at sanctioned clubs and events. This helps protect you if something goes wrong on the mat and ensures clubs follow recognised safety and risk‑management standards.
Support for clubs, coaches and referees
Your membership fees help fund programs that support local clubs, volunteers, coaches and referees. This includes education, accreditation, resources and governance work that keeps judo in the ACT strong, safe and well organised.

Being part of the ACT judo community
By joining through your club and registering with Judo ACT, you become part of a wider community of judoka across the territory and surrounding region. Membership helps ensure that judo here remains welcoming, inclusive and sustainable for future generations of players.
