JUDO IS BACK IN THE ACT

The ACT Government announced further easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the ACT.

From Friday 19 June 2020:

  • Sports requiring full contact, such as judo, are permitted to start full contact training

  • Up to 100 people indoors, or 1 person per 4 square metres, whichever is lesser.

Other easing of restrictions for sport from 19 June 2020 are:

  • Group size for participation is increasing to 100 - physical distancing, good personal and respiratory hygiene must continue.

  • Communal facilities such as changerooms and canteens may now be reopened provided food service requirements are met, along with general hygiene and physical distancing principles.

  • Spectators should not exceed the total group gathering size of 100. The number of spectators allowed in indoor venues should remain in line with the 4 square metres per person requirement with no more than 100 people.

Individuals are encouraged to continue the “Get in, Train/Play, Get out” mindset.

Furthermore, Judo ACT supports IJF Recommended Protocols for the Resumption of Judo Activities under Safe Conditions during Covid-19 Pandemic for Protocol of Preventive Vigilance – Level 1. Besides the 1 person per 4 square metres ACT Government requirement, all other IJF Level 1 protocols, where possible, should be followed.
