Steve McGregor’s introduction to judo was through his children's interest in a new sport judo. It was 2015, and Amy and Sam enrolled with Olympia Judo Club at Gilmore Primary School. While sitting and watching the sessions, it was suggested by Sensei Stephanos that Steve may as well take the mat and participate. Steve grudgingly agreed and joined in the training with his kids.
Many years later, and 20 Kg's lighter Steve became more involved in the club, joining the committee, learning to referee, and assisting in some of the coaching. His kids have since left judo to commit more time to school and work, but Steve continues to learn and develop his skills.
